Bathroom threshold ramp
The client in Taipei City wanted to improve the barrier-free environment of his bathroom. Customer originally purchased wooden ramps with short and steep ramps online, but he spent a lot of money and found out that it was so difficult to push. After that, he appointed Taiwan Ramp Expert to help him plan a bathroom threshold ramp. The client was very happy Professionally measure the dimensions in advance and then communicate via social software to complete whole design and spec online.
The number below 5 CM / 4.5 CM and 2 CM / 5 CM means the height from floor to threshold. Each threshold has two height inside and outside. So that’s a challenge. But, to Taiwan Ramp Expert – it’s a piece of cake.
Client want to push bath chair in and out shower room. But two continuous turns and tiny space make a big trouble. It a bad idea to put four ramps to go through two thresholds if some sellers give you this suggestion. The easy idea is lifting bath chair and carrying it cross threshold directly. At least, save your money.
The space in bathroom is not sufficiency as below. Four threshold ramps might able to work but client still have to push bath chair up and down twice one round. It means in and out total is 4 up and down. The wooden ramp is client brought from somewhere before. You can see the slope, short and steep. Client tried once and realized his idea maybe is not so good.
The correct method is one threshold ramp outside bath room one aluminum platform after 1st threshold and another aluminum platform in shower room. four threshold ramps of course can go through two thresholds but also have to deal with go up and down twice and the insufficient space in bathroom. CHING-YUAN’s plan allow pusher push bath chair cross threshold and go up platform just once. There is no height differentiation so client don’t need to go up and down again, actually is three times, and also keep enough turning space.
There is no threshold’s height of both side will be exactly the same height(still remember the four numbers in first pictures above). The fine-tuning feet of the aluminum alloy platform can not only be adjusted to the same height as the threshold, but each supporting foot is fully grounded and will not warp to one side! Aluminum alloy materials are definitely more suitable than iron plates and wooden boards. Humid environments like bathrooms are even more important if you live by the sea.
