Incorrect usage examples for using support legs

When we make the support legs, we always use the height informed by the customer, and then evaluate it based on the terrain in the photo, and then reduce it by at least 1 CM. It will not be too high or just right. It is suitable for any scene that requires the use of ramps.

The reasons are as follows:

  • Measurement error. If the support leg is too short, it can be raised. If it is too high, it cannot be lowered.
  • The ground is not absolutely level and must be reserved for customers to make fine adjustments.

The support legs were adjusted too high, resulting in insufficient force on the upper tongue plate. After the front wheel broke away from the plate, the rear wheel rolled and fell over completely. On the other hand, the upper tongue plate is pressed tightly by the weight because there is no support legs, unless step on it.

In terms of accessibility, we often see customers adjusting the support legs of half-fold ramps too high, resulting in a bulge in the middle of ramp. The right solution is to balance the force on the upper and lower ends and the supporting feet, or it would be better to adjust it a little lower. It doesn’t matter if the bottom of the foot is 1 CM away from the ground. As long as a person and the weight of the wheelchair are pressed up, the slope plate will sink and the feet will touch the ground. This method can ensure that there is sufficient pressure on both ends and allow the supporting feet to play their due role.

A while ago, I had a long online discussion with the Kaohsiung Supervisor on the issue of ramp length and board length. Although the Supervisor did not make any requirements in the end, as a leading company, it is necessary to correct mistakes and establish industry standards.
For a long time, the length marked on the front and rear folding, left and right folding and single-piece ramp boards is the length of the ramp board from beginning to end, for example BJ121 our product, it means board length total is 121 CM(tongue plate 9 CM included) but the real slope length actually is 112 CM because the head tongue plate is on the upper staircase. We can’t see it as part of slope. In paper, official document tell the need is 121 CM, our BJ121 is 9 CM short actually but everybody do this.

You might not believe the height difference not just bother wheelchair but also the others like cargo moving. We’d like to talk about this case. The Genesis social welfare foundation. We believe client’s requirement is pushing a cart with cargo up-and-down. This is requirement through the whole communication period. It’s not a big deal to Taiwan Ramp Expert. We have too many experiences for kind of case. Finally, the specification was confirmed. The proposal is one Half-fold-REV Ramps with Aluminum alloy platform. Only two staffs will push the cart up-and-down ramp channel. The rest staffs will walk another staircase. For this, we also build a portable 3 rises staircase for staffs use.

But, we figure out the real story is not what we think. The cart is not a simple cart. The cargo on cart is a barrel. A barrel loaded with traditional grilled sweet potatoes.  The landing of Aluminum alloy platform is too small not enough for this barrel cart.
